Welcome!  I am an assistant professor of communication at the University of Maine.  I have a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, an M.A. from Wake Forest University and a B.S. in Speech from Northwestern University.  I may have spent most of my life in the Midwest, but I am delighted to be in Maine now. 

I am interested in the intersection of discourse, identity, and social practices.  My primary research interests are in the discourse of the U.S. Jewish community, particularly the discourse of Jewish women.  My current projects involve analyses of international Jewish women's peace efforts, focusing on Women in Black and U.S. groups such as the Jewish Women's Committee to End the Occupation (JWCEO).  In addition, I am currently studying U.S. Jewish responses to anti-Semitism in the 1920s.  Click here to find interesting links on my research,  Jewish women's peace activities, etc.
